Christine Khor – on meaningful relationships and effort.
“I believe that when women connect they connect on many different levels and the stronger the relationship the stronger the connections – professional and business, personal, spiritual and family.”
What does the word CONNECTIONS mean to you?
I believe connections are meaningful relationships. They are made between two parties for mutual benefit and are multi-faceted. I believe that when women connect they connect on many different levels and the stronger the relationship the stronger the connections – professional and business, personal, spiritual and family. My greatest connections have become my greatest supporters and friends.
How do you stay connected with the right people?
I stay connected by making an effort. I try to carve out time every week to stay connected with people who are important to me. I do this the modern way – Facebook and LinkedIn and the old fashion way – telephone, walks around the park and a drink after work.
What empowers you?
I empower myself by giving myself permission to try, to fail, to succeed, to laugh, to cry and just to be.
What significant connection has influenced/inspired you recently?
This past year I have actively pursued opportunities to meet amazing people. I attended the Women in Focus conference in Nov 2014, I went to Antarctica with the Unstoppables, a group of 100 business owners and entrepreneurs and in July 2015 I am going to Necker Island to meet Richard Branson. I have met too many amazing people to mention over the last 12 months.
What’s the best self-indulgent treatment you’ve ever had?
The greatest self indulgent treat I gave myself was accepting an offer to attend Ascot and then going to Paris and England for 2 weeks with my husband, without my small children. There were times of guilt but I don’t regret the decision at all. It will be a trip my husband and I will remember for a very long time.
What do you do when you are in the mood to spoil yourself?
A massage and gold class.
