The Clinic:

Climbing the flight of stairs leading to this well-known establishment, I find myself greeted with a lofty and airy space, akin to that of a contemporary Balinese retreat. Complete with timber flooring and clean minimalistic furniture in neutral shades, this aesthetic clinic is truly one that invigorates the senses.
Greeting me warmly, my therapist Neelam Taylor flashes an inviting smile and welcomes me to this luxurious haven. She hands me a consent form and I start to fill out the details of my skin condition. She then ushers me into a cozy treatment room and proceeds to tell me more about the treatment that I am about to experience. Neelam informs me that the Looks Divine Signature Chemical Peel is a 45-minute facial that combines fruit enzymes to speed the renewal of our skin. Packed with vitamin C and centella stem cells, it’s especially good for calming redness and supporting Rosacea prone skin. Reassuring me that it is a superficial peel with minimal downtime, I took a few deep breaths and gave Neelam the green light.

The Treatment:

As with all facials, it begins with a basic cleanse to rid my skin of makeup and impurities. A degreasing solution is then applied to safely prep my skin to better absorb the benefits of the peel. I did fell a slight tingling sensation during this process but nothing major to the point of discomfort. Neelam lets the solution sink into my skin for a few minutes before informing me that she will start applying the first layer of the peel, a product containing a combination of vitamins and enzymes. She then applies another layer of product on top of the initial one, this time containing a blend of AHA acids to help with my breakouts. The third and fourth layers of the peel were also filled with vitamins to hydrate my thirsty skin. My kind therapist then leaves me alone in the room for slightly more than two minutes before returning with a warm towel to gently remove all the products from my face. After a dab of eye cream, some lip balm and a light application of moisturizer, Neelam happily informs me that my treatment is complete.

The Verdict:

I took one look in the mirror and immediately expressed my gratitude for never have I experienced such clear skin before. I was happy with how radiant it looked as well as how soft and supple it felt. Glowing from within and feeling refreshed, I left the clinic brimming with confidence. I did spot some minor peeling around my lip area the next day but in comparison to the overall result, I’d definitely say that this revitalizing treatment is most definitely worth a try. So if you’ve got a beautiful weekend planned and feel like you need to boost your skin, do yourself a favour and head on down to Looks Divine.

Cost:

Looks Divine Signature Chemical Peel is priced at $150.
